Inside the
problem.
Outside
the hype.

Altenture is an FDE practice, work inside your repo and your stand-ups for 4 to 12 weeks, and hand over a production system your team can extend.

01

Forward Deployed Engineering

An Altenture engineer works inside your team, in your codebase, on your roadmap, to your deadlines. No handoff lag, no translation layer between strategy and code.

02

AI Solution Architecture

From model evaluation and prompt engineering to inference pipelines and production monitoring. Altenture designs AI systems that hold up when real users hit them.

03

Cloud Architecture

Clean, cost-effective infrastructure designed for your actual workload, not a generic template. Altenture builds cloud systems that perform and don't surprise you on a Sunday night.

04

Cloud Migration

Move from legacy infrastructure to cloud without the drama. Altenture handles assessment, risk reduction, and cutover, and stays through stabilisation, not just the handover.

Engineering without
the overhead.

Altenture works directly on the problem. No project management layer between you and the engineer, no lengthy onboarding phase, no status reports for the sake of reports.

01

Delivery, not advice

Altenture ships working software, infrastructure, and AI systems. Not strategy documents that sit in a folder or recommendations that need another team to execute.

02

Senior throughout

Every engagement runs on senior engineering experience. No escalation path needed, no junior staff on client work, no handoff between whoever scoped it and whoever builds it.

03

End to end

Architecture, implementation, and deployment. Altenture sees the work through to production and hands it over in a state your team can own and extend.

04

Low overhead

Small team means fast decisions and direct communication. One point of contact, full context, no information loss between layers.

From first call
to production.

01

Scoping call

30 minutes. Both sides figure out if this is the right fit.

02

Written plan

Problem, success criteria, architecture sketch, cost and latency estimates, eval and observability plan. Free if the engagement doesn't proceed. Credited toward the engagement if it does.

03

Build

Daily updates in your channel. You see commits, not slide decks.

04

Production handoff

The system is running in your stack, documented, with failure modes mapped and tested.

05

30-day support window

Bugs and questions covered for the month after handoff.

How Altenture
actually works.

Not what sounds good in a brochure.

Three things you
can count on.

Altenture will

  • Decisions documented. Why Altenture picked this approach, what was rejected, where it'll break first. Written down, in your repo.
  • Observable in production.Logs, metrics, errors. You see what the system is doing without having to ask.
  • Bounded cost and latency.Known dollars per call. Known p95. No surprises on your invoice or your incident channel.

Altenture won't

  • Ship code that hasn't been run end-to-end.
  • Take on work it can't deliver.
  • Hide trade-offs, costs, or risks. If something is the wrong tool for the job, Altenture will say so before writing a line of it.

Questions
buyers ask.

Answers up front, so Altenture spends the call on your problem.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. Mutual NDA, standard terms. Send yours or use Altenture's. Altenture won't sign a non-compete or a non-solicit attached to an NDA.

Do you take equity instead of cash?

No. Cash only. Altenture is open to bonus structures tied to delivered outcomes (usage, accuracy, cost-savings against a baseline). The base engagement is paid in money.

Why don't you bill hourly?

Hourly billing rewards taking longer. Project and retainer pricing rewards shipping. Both sides know what they're getting and what it costs. If your procurement requires hourly, Altenture will usually pass.

What happens if scope changes mid-project?

A change-request memo. One page. What's changing, why, the cost and timeline impact, what's being cut if anything. You sign or you don't. Altenture doesn't keep building and surprise you on the invoice.

Do you offer staff augmentation?

No. Altenture doesn't take engagements without scope. Every engagement has a defined outcome. If you need staff aug, referrals to trusted people are available.

How quickly can you start?

Depends on the queue. Lead time is usually 2 to 6 weeks for project work, 1 to 3 weeks for an audit. The hero section shows current availability.

Do you work with companies outside Europe?

Yes. Altenture is based in Europe and works with teams in the US, EU, and UK. Most calls happen between 14:00 and 21:00 CET. Async work in your timezone the rest of the time.

What size companies do you work with?

Most engagements are funded AI startups (Seed to Series B), B2B SaaS teams adding AI features, and mid-market companies bringing AI inside. Altenture doesn't work with pre-seed companies that haven't raised. Altenture doesn't take large enterprise engagements with 6-month procurement cycles.

Can you train our team while you build?

Yes, by default. The whole point of the engagement is that your team can extend the system after the work is done. That means readable code, documented decisions, and pairing during the build. No knowledge silos.

What stack do you use?

Default: Python and FastAPI on AWS or GCP. Postgres or BigQuery for data. Plain SDK calls to your model provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-weight via Bedrock / Vertex). Eval frameworks: usually a custom Python harness or promptfoo for simple cases. Altenture will propose something else only if your situation needs it, and will explain why.

What if the project goes over budget or timeline?

Altenture eats the overrun on the original scope. If new scope was added mid-project, that's covered by the change-request memo. If the overrun is on Altenture's side (bad estimate, technical surprise), the work finishes at the agreed price. That's why the up-front plan matters.

Do you sign work-for-hire? Who owns the code?

You own everything Altenture writes for you, on day one of the engagement. Standard work-for-hire terms. Altenture keeps the right to describe the engagement publicly at a high level (with your name removed if you prefer).

Oleg Kalenskyy, Founder of Altenture

Oleg Kalenskyy

Founder & Principal Engineer

Altenture is a one-person engineering practice. I'm Oleg, the only person on the other end of the email.

20+ years in software, the last several leading AI and digital innovation in European mid-market companies. I founded Altenture to deliver Forward Deployed Engineering where it's actually needed. Not slides, not demos, but systems that survive contact with real users.

The person on the scoping call is the person writing the code. No junior engineers billed at senior rates.

When the scope demands it, I draw on a curated network of independent specialists, held to the same standard as every Altenture engagement. The accountability stays with me.
